TAMPA, Fla. – Alfredo “Freddy” Ramirez III, director of the Miami-Dade Police Department, is in critical condition after an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound while attending a sheriffs’ conference near Tampa on Tuesday.
Authorities responded to reports of a shooting along Interstate 75, Sunday 6.30 evening. Where Ramirez, 52, was found alone suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound believed to be self-inflicted, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
